Background:
Our Club started life 100 years ago as Eastbourne Rovers Cycling and Athletic Club, with the two sports deciding to separate in the 1950's. We are affiliated to UK Athletics, SEAA and Sussex AAA. We actively take part in and encourage most major athletics disciplines and we cater for all age groups from the under 11's to Veterans.

Track & Field:
We enter teams in the:

Sussex Under 13's League (Girls & Boys)

Southern Womens' League (Div. 4), (U15, SW)

Southern Counties Veterans' League (Men & Women)

Young Athletes League (Boys U13, U15, U17)

Southern Mens' League (Div. 4)

We also promote and/or compete in several other track and field trophy meetings in Sussex.

Road and Cross Country
We enter the Sussex Road Grand Prix and Sussex County Cross Country League. We also join several other local clubs in another friendly cross country league competition.

We aim to encourage members who wish to compete, in all aspects of athletics, at both team and individual level. To this end we help with transport wherever we can - often at subsidised costs to members. Equally, we also welcome those members who prefer to enjoy athletics without taking part in competition.

TRANSPORT

Womens' League - Mini bus (approx. £6.50 seat) or coach (approx. £7.50 seat). Let your manager know if you are sharing a bus so that they know numbers of seats. Car sharing can also be arranged - passengers should give donation towards petrol.
Mens' League - Car sharing is usual - donations for petrol please. Mini bus arranged if a large team is expected (£6.50 seat)
Young Athletes' League - A 49 seater coach will be hired to travel as a team (£7.50 seat). Except... Horsham when it is hoped parents will drive and support their children and the team.

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS

This is a chance to battle it out and find the top athletes in Sussex. Medals to first 3 in each event. It gives you the chance to compete against the best athletes in Sussex and this often produces new PB's. You must enter yourself before the April 23rd closing date. Own transport.
There are also medals for the relay teams and the Club Coaches will soon be doing relay training and it is hoped we will enter several teams in each age group.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP DAY

A great relaxed family day at the track. A chance to try different events ending with a BBQ. Medals will be awarded at the Annual Prize Presentations Dinner and Dance.
