37th British Title for Brian

Brian Slaughter clocked up his 37th British Title in winning the British Masters Weight Pentathlon Title that was held at Oxford. The event is another example of all-round ability in different track and field events and this one with the throws.

The day started with the hammer with Brian stating his position having won this event before with his second-best throw of the season. He quickly moved onto the shot putt and again threw solidly for more critical points. Next up was the javelin as he was now pulling away from the others. The penultimate event of the discus and a favourite of his also proved successful. With the weight throw being the last one with a season’s best 12.19m for a total that broke the 3000 barrier and 3035 points for victory and the title.
