A few club members have started to compete indoors with the Open meeting held at the newly refurbished Lee Valley indoor facility. The rules for this new track seem appropriate for this time of year with the need to fit spikes that are shaped like xmas trees so as to not damage the surface so much compared to conversional shaped ones.
On Sunday 4th December Toby Shepherd moved into the U17 age group for the first-time competing having taken part in the U15 during the summer season. He recorded really solid ‘bench mark’ performances when he recorded 7.75 for the 60m and that all important sub 40 mark in the 300m with 39.54.
Cara Maker has started her come back trial in the long jump after a series of injuries that reduced her summer competing.
New member to the club and competing indoor again was Zoe Wright in the U17 age group as she is showing promise in bringing down her times over shorter distances with 8.65 in the 60m. Caitlyn Spencer trying out the indoor competing for the first time this winter season again and came down to the 60m distance with a useful 8.43
