Grant Stirling Won the European Triple Jump Bronze medal after delivering a great competitive performance at the European Masters Track and Field Championship held in Pescara, Italy. After having a mixed season through injury in an event that is extremely hard on the body he certainly delivered. Starting the competition with, by his standards, a modest 11.94m and then two no jumps this was enough to get him into the top 8 where he could get three more jumps to claim a medal. He saved his best until the 5th round jump of 12.56m for a season’s best into a -1.4m/s wind to move himself up into that 3rd place behind Italian and Romania rivals but 12 cm ahead of his polish one. A well earned rest now awaits.
